Key benefits
are:
WLAN users only need to carry a
single card in order to connect anywhere there is an 802.11 network regardless
of the network type
Five times higher data rate and
throughput can be achieved, compared to 802.11b, resulting in faster response
times and supporting more bandwidth intensive applications
New 802.11 infrastructure can be
added to existing installations to support more users and higher speed
applications where needed and without requiring a wholesale wireless network
change-out. This can be done because the 802.11a/b/g cards support all current
802.11 standards.
Product Concept
The 11a/b/g ComboCard
will:
Look similar to our current 11a/b
ComboCard. Diversity antennas are integrated in the card.
Include drivers for Windows XP,
2000, ME and 98SE operating systems. Other OS support will be considered for
follow-on releases.
Include Wi-fi
certifications Will
not be supported in an AP-2000. (See Release Notices for AP-2000 Upgrade
Kits)
